Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, has announced plans to expand its flight services to the United Kingdom amid a rising demand for air travel between the two countries. The airline confirmed on February 23 that it will add new flights to Manchester, complementing its existing routes to London.
The airline also plans to increase the frequency of flights from Algiers’ Houari Boumediene Airport to London Heathrow and London Stansted. Currently, Air Algérie operates five weekly flights to Heathrow and four weekly flights to Stansted. The airline stated that for the upcoming summer season of 2026, weekly flights to the UK will increase to 14, providing travelers with greater flexibility and options.
Operational details and aircraft used
Air Algérie began its regular services to Stansted Airport in April 2025. Most flights to Heathrow and two of the Stansted rotations are operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, while the remaining Stansted flights will use Airbus A330-200 aircraft. The expansion reflects the airline’s strategic response to growing passenger traffic and demand for travel between Algeria and the UK.
“The Group is expanding services to Manchester, Heathrow, and Stansted, providing greater flexibility for travelers between the two countries,” the airline stated. “For the summer 2026 season, weekly flights to the UK will rise to 14.”
