airBaltic has achieved a significant milestone by expanding its fleet to a total of 52 Airbus A220-300 aircraft by the end of 2025, underlining its commitment to sustainable aviation and operational efficiency. The airline introduced its third aircraft of the year, registered YL-BTB, further modernizing its fleet with state-of-the-art technology designed to enhance passenger comfort and reduce environmental impact.

Since its acquisition of the Airbus A220-300 in 2016, airBaltic has become a leader in operational reliability within Europe, with over 23 million passengers flown and nearly a quarter of a million flights completed using this aircraft model. The airline's focus on fleet modernization supports its regional and international route expansion, connecting the Baltic region to over 80 destinations across Europe and beyond.

Enhancing Passenger Experience and Sustainability

The Airbus A220-300 is renowned for its wider seats, larger windows, and improved cabin comfort, offering passengers a quieter and more enjoyable flight. The aircraft's fuel efficiency and lower noise levels contribute to the airline’s sustainability goals, helping to reduce CO2 emissions and environmental footprint.

"airBaltic’s fleet expansion demonstrates its dedication to eco-friendly operations and passenger satisfaction," said Kaspars Mīlenbergs, Chief Commercial Officer of airBaltic.

Furthermore, the airline is pioneering onboard connectivity by becoming the first European carrier to offer free SpaceX Starlink internet, enabling passengers to remain connected during their journeys. This technological advancement exemplifies airBaltic’s commitment to innovation and enhancing overall customer experience.

With continued fleet growth and technological innovation, airBaltic aims to strengthen its regional and global connectivity, supporting economic development in the Baltic region while leading in sustainable aviation practices.
