An incident involving an easyJet Airbus A320 has prompted safety reviews after a failure to complete a deicing checklist resulted in a cabin pressurization malfunction, according to a report from the UK’s Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB). The event occurred during ground deicing operations, which are crucial during winter months to prevent ice accumulation that could adversely affect aircraft performance.

The AAIB's investigation revealed that the crew's omission of a critical checklist step led to the pressurization system not functioning properly prior to departure. Although there were no injuries or in-flight issues reported, authorities emphasized the significance of strict adherence to safety protocols and proper crew coordination during pre-flight processes.

Thierry Dubois, an aerospace journalist, stressed in his analysis that such oversights can have serious safety implications and underline the importance of comprehensive training and supervisory oversight at ground handling operations. As a result of the incident, easyJet is expected to review and reinforce its safety procedures related to pre-flight checks to prevent future lapses.
