Boeing has entered into a new partnership with Australian manufacturer AW Bell to produce castings for the Boeing 737 and 777 aircraft programs. This development underscores Boeing’s commitment to bolstering the Australian Government’s Global Supply Chain Program, which aims to foster local industry and enhance national defense capabilities.

Amy List, managing director of Boeing Defence Australia, highlighted the initiative's significance: “Our partnership with the Australian Government to create significant export opportunities for Australian companies helps support high-tech jobs across the country and creates pathways for these companies, many of which are small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), to be integral parts of our global business.” The contract includes parts for derivatives such as the P-8 Poseidon, supporting Australia's maritime patrol operations, which recently received its thirteenth aircraft.

Expanding Australian Industry Opportunities

This agreement further integrates Australian suppliers into Boeing’s extensive global supply chain, a program initiated in 2007 that has already awarded over AUD 967 million in exports to more than 105 Australian companies. Boeing’s collaboration aims to expand exports and technological exchanges, bolstering current and future projects across defense, commercial aircraft, space, and satellite systems.

“We are extremely proud to be supporting BCA with a range of titanium and aluminium components for their 737, 767 and 777 aircraft,” said Sam Bell, CEO of AW Bell. “This contract stands as a testament to the strength, innovation and global competitiveness of Australian manufacturing and I’d personally like to thank the Boeing GSC team, whose support and confidence in our capabilities helped make this possible. For AW Bell and BCA, this is the beginning of a trusted, long-term partnership.”

The collaboration reinforces Australia's role as a key player in the global aerospace supply chain, with Boeing’s program supporting ongoing growth and innovation within Australian industry sectors and defense capabilities.
