Dassault Aviation has announced the expansion of its Dassault Aircraft Services India–Engineering Center (DASI-EC) located in Pune, Maharashtra. This enhancement aims to increase the company’s engineering capacity in India to fulfill its offset obligations related to the Rafale aircraft contract with the Indian Air Force. The move underscores Dassault’s strategic commitment to supporting Indian defense projects and boosting its local aerospace industry.

The facility, situated in Mumbai, now offers expanded support capabilities, which are crucial as Dassault looks to strengthen its footprint in India’s aerospace sector. This development aligns with India’s broader efforts to develop a self-reliant defense and civil aviation infrastructure and highlights Dassault’s intention to embed itself deeper into the local market.

Moreover, the company’s ongoing investments focus on nurturing Indian aerospace talent and fostering collaborations with domestic industry partners. This expansion is expected to aid Dassault’s aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities, further catalyzing the growth of India’s defense and commercial aviation industries.

Swaati Ketkar, an aviation journalist with expertise in the Indian market, states that this move aligns with Dassault’s broader strategy to support India’s expanding aerospace needs. The Pune center’s growth will not only bolster the Rafale program but also position Dassault as a key player in India’s aerospace and defense ecosystem, paving the way for sustained regional growth.
