Emirates Airline announced plans to expand its premium economy service to an additional ten routes by July 1, increasing its total coverage to 84 routes with at least one flight operated by an aircraft equipped with the dedicated cabin. This expansion involves deploying both newly delivered Airbus A350 aircraft and retrofitted Boeing 777s that feature the premium economy seats.
The airline's strategy aims to enhance passenger comfort by offering more premium options across its network. Starting March 29, Emirates will operate a daily flight between Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Rome with the A350, which includes the new premium economy cabin. Additionally, several existing routes will see aircraft retrofitted to include the premium economy seating, providing a consistent passenger experience regardless of aircraft type.
Route and Aircraft Deployment
The addition of premium economy on routes from Dubai to locations such as Cape Town, Copenhagen, and Phuket will see increased frequency. The airline will also retrofit Boeing 777s to operate on routes to Karachi, Mexico City, and others, with some routes gaining incremental flights. The premium economy product features seats with up to 40 inches of legroom, a dedicated check-in, and enhanced in-flight services, introduced in 2022.
"These additional rollouts affirm Emirates' commitment to delivering a premium, consistent experience across its expanding network," said a spokesperson.
The focus on a uniform premium service demonstrates Emirates' aim to maintain customer satisfaction amid rapid route expansion, leveraging both new aircraft and retrofit programs to broaden access to its premium offerings across key markets.
