Emirates Airlines announced its plan to equip its entire in-service fleet with Starlink satellite internet service, beginning from November 2025 and aiming for full deployment by mid-2027. This initiative will initially roll out on Boeing 777 aircraft, with installations on Airbus A380s starting in February 2026. The seamless connectivity aims to enable passengers to stream, game, work, and browse on personal devices and seat-back screens simultaneously, providing high-speed internet across all cabin classes.
The airline has already tested Starlink on its first aircraft, A6-EPF, a Boeing 777-300ER showcased at the Dubai Airshow. The first commercial flight with Starlink connectivity is expected immediately after the event. Emirates plans to install two antennae on each Boeing 777 and three antennae on each Airbus A380, to maximize coverage and capacity. Additionally, the airline will offer free live TV over Starlink, initially on personal devices and later on seat-back screens, enhancing onboard entertainment options.
Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, stated: “Partnering with Starlink is a significant step in delivering better inflight connectivity. It supports our commitment to providing passengers with seamless productivity, real-time communication, and uninterrupted digital access. This upgrade complements our extensive cabin refurbishment program, including new premium cabins and upgraded entertainment systems.”
Further, Vallair and AeroX signed a deal to support the installation of Starlink systems across fleets, with Vallair providing modification services in France. This arrangement allows airlines to upgrade their connectivity offerings efficiently, with minimal disruption, supported by Vallair's maintenance capabilities. This partnership exemplifies the industry's broader move toward delivering reliable, high-speed global connectivity for both passengers and operators.
