India is hosting the inaugural Asia Pacific Aircraft Accident Investigators (APAC-AIG) meeting from October 28 to 31, 2025, in New Delhi. Organized by the Civil Aviation Ministry through the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), this event is expected to bring together approximately 90 aviation safety experts from across the Asia-Pacific region to discuss critical issues related to aircraft accident investigations.
The conference aims to enhance regional cooperation, share best practices, and develop new safety recommendations to address the growth and safety challenges faced by the region's expanding aviation market. Workshop sessions will focus on recent case studies, investigation techniques, and advancements in safety protocols involving representatives from Indian and international agencies.
The AAIB, responsible for investigating aviation incidents in India, currently oversees around 25 investigations, including the recent tragic crash of an Air India aircraft that claimed 260 lives. The insights from these investigations contribute to shaping safety standards globally. As the host, India emphasizes its role in promoting international collaboration and implementing ICAO standards to improve aviation safety and reassure passengers worldwide.
This summit will serve as a pivotal platform for strengthening cooperation among investigative bodies and addressing key safety issues. India's leadership underscores its growing influence in regional and global aviation safety initiatives, with the conference expected to set a benchmark for future cooperation efforts in the Asia-Pacific.
