In response to escalating regional tensions over the Middle East, India’s Civil Aviation Ministry has reported significant disruptions in flight operations. On Saturday, more than 410 domestic flights were canceled, and around 444 flights are expected to be canceled on March 1 due to airspace restrictions over Iran and surrounding areas.

The ministry's official statement emphasized that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and collaborating with airlines and airports to ensure passenger safety and operational stability. Several international routes connecting India to Europe and North America have also been affected, with airlines suspending or delaying services to prioritize safety.

Impacts on International Flights and Regional Response

Airlines such as Air India and IndiGo have suspended flights and issued advisories urging passengers to verify their flight statuses. Air India canceled 28 international flights scheduled for March 1, including services from Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar, and other cities to London, New York, Frankfurt, and Paris. The airline reassures passengers that rebooking and refund options are available.

"Passengers are advised to check with their airlines before heading to the airport as the situation remains volatile," said an official at the Ministry. The government has conducted high-level meetings involving stakeholders to coordinate safety measures and manage the crisis effectively.

The Indian authorities continue to coordinate with international agencies and regional partners to respond to the evolving conflict, which has led to imposed NOTAMs and airspace closures. Travelers should stay informed through airline updates and government advisories to ensure safety and minimize disruptions during this period.
