Lockheed Martin has announced the appointment of Jeremy King as the company's new chief executive for Australia and New Zealand, effective February 23, 2026. King, a seasoned Australian defence expert, brings over thirty years of military and acquisition experience, with a focus on regional security capabilities.
King succeeds Warren "Macca" McDonald, who will retire after a distinguished tenure. Reporting to President Jay Pitman, King’s role underscores Lockheed Martin's ongoing commitment to expanding its defense and aerospace footprint in the Australia and New Zealand regions, supporting diverse space, air, maritime, and integrated defense programs.
Background and Career
Having served extensively in the Australian Defence Force and the Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), King previously led the Joint Aviation Systems division. His operational deployments include Bougainville, East Timor, and Afghanistan, with senior roles such as Director General Army Aviation Systems and Head of Joint Aviation Systems.
"Jeremy’s operational expertise and acquisition experience make him an ideal leader during this period of regional defense development," said Jay Pitman.
King holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, and Engineering Science. He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and a Chartered Engineer, also an alumnus of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
His appointment marks a continued strategic effort by Lockheed Martin to strengthen its defense partnerships and capabilities across the Pacific region, supporting national security and regional stability.
