Travel between India and the United Arab Emirates is set to benefit from increased airline competition and expanded routes with the upcoming launch of operations by two new carriers in 2026. These airlines, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress, have received official government approvals, aiming to offer more affordable fares and greater passenger options on this busy international corridor.
Concurrently, the Navi Mumbai International Airport has recently become fully operational, providing an alternative to the congested main Mumbai airport. Airlines like Air India Express and Akasa Air have shifted many of their UAE routes there, enabling quicker and more convenient access for travelers heading toward Pune and Mumbai’s expanding business districts.
Market estimates indicate that one-way fares from Dubai to Indian cities such as Delhi and Mumbai could be available as low as AED 350 to AED 450, especially when booked early. Various discounts from bank partnerships and app-specific promotional codes are also actively attracting passengers.
In addition to fare reductions, fleet expansions are underway, with Air India Express reaching 100 aircraft and enabling new non-stop routes, including flights from Abu Dhabi to Pune and Delhi. Akasa Air is further expanding its presence in the Northern Emirates with new routes from Sharjah, promising shorter travel times and reduced layovers. Overall, these developments are poised to significantly improve connectivity and passenger choice within the UAE-India travel network.
