Philippine Airlines has resumed its seasonal non-stop flights connecting Manila and Sapporo. Operating from November 24, 2025, to March 27, 2026, the route adds to PAL’s expanding network in Japan, which already includes flights to Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Tokyo Haneda, and Tokyo Narita. The airline’s Airbus A321neo aircraft, used for this route, features 12 business-class and 156 economy seats, equipped with in-flight entertainment and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Meanwhile, Vietjet has strengthened its regional network with the resumption of daily flights between Hanoi and Con Dao, and Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao from December 3, 2025, with increased frequency starting December 15. In addition, the airline launched its first route to the Philippines, offering a direct service between Manila and Ho Chi Minh City operating five times weekly. The inaugural flights at Ninoy Aquino and Tan Son Nhat airports were marked with celebrations, reflecting increased connectivity within Southeast Asia. Vietjet's fleet provides baggage allowances, in-flight meals, and eSIM options for international travelers.
Regional Expansion: Jakarta-Penang
TransNusa has introduced a new service between Jakarta and Penang, initially operating three times weekly with plans to increase to daily flights from December 1, 2025. This marks the airline’s third route to Malaysia, supplementing its Jakarta-Kuala Lumpur service. Passengers can choose from fare bundles that include baggage, seat selection, and schedule flexibility. The aircraft used for this route is configured with 174 seats, offering approximately 30 inches of legroom, enhancing regional connectivity in Southeast Asia.
