The Uzbekistan-based airline Qanot Sharq has officially taken delivery of its first Airbus A321XLR as of December 19, 2025. This milestone makes Qanot Sharq the fifth airline worldwide to operate this advanced model, which features improved range and efficiency suitable for medium-haul routes.

The aircraft was acquired through a long-term leasing agreement with Air Lease Corporation. With this addition, Qanot Sharq becomes the first carrier in Central Asia to operate the A321XLR, enabling the airline to expand its route network and serve longer destinations with greater fuel economy and passenger capacity.

Industry analyst Kurt Hofmann noted that the introduction of the A321XLR will significantly enhance Qanot Sharq's operational flexibility, positioning the airline more competitively within the region. The new aircraft is expected to support growth ambitions, providing a modern platform for increased connectivity in Central Asia and beyond.
