Saudi Arabia's low-cost carrier flyadeal has taken delivery of its first aircraft in 2026, an Airbus A320neo, increasing its fleet to 45 jets. The aircraft, named Al-Saqr, symbolizes strength and cultural pride, with the airline adopting a naming scheme of native birds.
CEO Steven Greenway highlighted the significance of this milestone, noting plans to accelerate fleet growth and expand route networks. He emphasized that the new aircraft supports the airline’s goals of increasing frequencies on current routes and launching new destinations.
As an all-A320 operation, flyadeal values fuel efficiency and domestic operational capacity, having recently expanded its fleet. The airline is also recruiting pilots through the government-backed graduate cadet program, indicating robust growth.
Marketing head Hazar Hafiz explained that birds naturally embody movement, travel, and freedom—core values of the airline. The Airbus A320 fleet features 186 economy seats with high standards of comfort and design, suitable for the airline's low-cost model.
Operating from bases in Jeddah, Riyadh, Madinah, and Dammam, flyadeal serves over 30 destinations across Saudi Arabia and internationally. With ambitious growth targets, the airline plans to reach over 100 destinations and 100 aircraft by 2030, supporting Saudi Vision 2030.
