Notably, no Singapore airline was among the top ten worldwide in on-time performance.
Airport Rankings by Size
The report also assessed the punctuality of airports grouped by size. Santiago’s Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport led the large airport category, with an on-time rate of 87.04 per cent. It was followed by Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport at 86.81 per cent and Mexico City’s Benito Juarez International Airport at 86.55 per cent.
In the medium airport category, Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport emerged as the most punctual, achieving a score of 93.34 per cent. Among small airports, Jos Joaquin de Olmedo International Airport in Guayaquil, Ecuador, topped the list with 91.47 per cent.
The rankings were based on data from over 600 sources of real-time flight information. The report emphasizes that flights arriving or departing within 15 minutes of schedule are considered on time.
The findings highlight that global performance varies considerably, with many Singaporean carriers not featuring prominently in the worldwide rankings.
