Singapore Airlines has announced that passengers aboard its aircraft between June 11 and July 19, 2026, will be able to watch live broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup matches. This initiative aims to enhance the in-flight entertainment experience by streaming matches via Sport 24 on KrisWorld Live TV, accessible on select aircraft models.
The live streaming service will be available on all Boeing 787-10 and Boeing 737-8 planes in the airline’s fleet, along with 41 Airbus A350-900 and eight Boeing 777-300ER jets, according to reports. The availability of live broadcasts, however, depends on satellite coverage, broadcasting rights, and regulatory approvals on specific routes.
Background and Implications
This move signifies Singapore Airlines’ commitment to providing cutting-edge in-flight services. Yeoh Phee Teik, the airline’s senior vice-president for customer experience, emphasized that this initiative reflects the airline’s dedication to improving passenger satisfaction during major international events.
The 23rd FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will be held from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The airline's recognition as the second-best global airline at Skytrax World’s Best Airlines 2025 underscores its reputation for quality service. This addition of live World Cup broadcasts aims to attract sports fans and enhance the overall travel experience.
