Czech airline Smartwings has begun a new direct scheduled service between Brussels Zaventem Airport and Prague Václav Havel Airport, with up to twelve weekly flights. The route, inaugurated on 26 October, is designed to enhance connectivity between the Czech Republic and Brussels, appealing to both business and leisure travelers. Smartwings operates two daily flights on weekdays, with outbound flights departing Brussels at 8:55 am and 7:30 pm, and flights from Prague leaving at 6:40 am and 5:15 pm. On weekends, one flight operates in the morning and evening respectively.
All flights are operated using modern aircraft that meet industry safety standards, with Smartwings holding the IOSA certification. Passengers can pre-order meals inspired by Czech cuisine, such as schnitzel and local sandwiches, to be picked up before departure. The airline also offers on-board snacks and beverages.
The new route aims to strengthen Eurocrats, businesspeople, diplomats, and tourists' access between the cities. Prague remains a popular destination in Europe, with increasing tourist numbers reported in 2024 and 2025, and notable visits like Belgium's King Philippe commemorating historic events. Return fares from Brussels start around €150, making Smartwings a competitive option. The airline continues to expand its European network, adding new destinations and increasing frequencies to key cities.
