Thai Airways International has completed the delivery of its first Airbus A321neo, marking a significant step in its fleet renewal strategy. The aircraft, designated HS-TOA and named "Boworrangsee," is expected to commence commercial operations on 22 January 2026, serving routes such as Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Singapore Changi. The delivery ceremony in Bangkok was attended by senior officials including Lavaron Saengsnit, Chairman of the Board.
This aircraft is part of an order for 31 Airbus A321neo aircraft to be introduced over the next few years, aimed at strengthening the airline's short-to-medium haul network. The new aircraft features Thai Airways' modern interiors, with Thompson Vantage seats in business class and Recaro R3 in economy, accommodating 175 passengers in total.
In addition to the A321neos, Thai Airways plans to acquire Boeing 787-9 aircraft to support its long-haul fleet expansion. The strategic focus is on offering a premium traveling experience on mid-haul routes, leveraging the new narrow-body fleet alongside the upgraded wide-body aircraft. These efforts are part of the airline's broader initiative to remain competitive in the Asian aviation market and deliver enhanced customer comfort.
