European carrier Transavia announced the delivery of its 14th Airbus A321neo aircraft on December 20, 2025. This new aircraft, registered as PH-YHR, arrived at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and was immediately put into commercial service, replacing older Boeing 737 models.
The aircraft, built at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport and initially flying under German registration D-AVXW, was ferried from Germany to the Netherlands before its first revenue flight to Athens. It features an all-economy layout with a capacity of 232 passengers and is powered by CFMI engines. This delivery marks a step in Transavia's fleet modernization, with plans to operate over 70 Airbus A320 and A321neo aircraft in total, including additional units ordered.
Fleet Modernization and Route Expansion
Transavia is expanding its Airbus fleet as part of a broader strategy to modernize and improve fuel efficiency. The airline maintains bases at Amsterdam Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague, and Eindhoven airports, serving a wide network of over 96 destinations across Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. As a subsidiary of KLM and part of the Air France-KLM group, Transavia continues to offer affordable travel options while upgrading its onboard experience with new aircraft.
The delivery of the A321neo enhances Transavia’s capacity to serve longer routes with increased efficiency and lower emissions. The airline’s ongoing fleet renewal efforts reflect its focus on sustainability and competitiveness in Europe's low-cost airline market.
