Turkish defense and simulation company HAVELSAN has announced that its domestically produced Boeing 737NG Flight Training Device Level 2 (FTD Level 2) has officially received FNPT II MCC and FTD 2 certification from Türkiye’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The new device has been delivered to SunExpress’s Antalya Training Center, where it will serve to enhance the airline’s pilot training capabilities.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in Türkiye’s civil aviation industry as it is the first locally manufactured FTD Level 2 simulator and the first in the country to be awarded this certification. The deployment expands HAVELSAN’s STARLINE FSTD portfolio, which now includes the new VEGA FTD Level 2 platform along with its existing full flight simulators.
The simulator features HAVELSAN’s proprietary STARVIEW-B collimated imaging system, offering high-fidelity visual displays that improve pilot immersion and procedural accuracy. This integration of a domestically developed visual system underscores Türkiye’s growing expertise in advanced simulation technology and supports HAVELSAN’s strategy of expanding export capabilities.
