Blue Islands, a regional airline operating in the UK, has suspended all flights effective November 14, 2025, due to financial difficulties. The airline announced that it had canceled all upcoming flights and urged passengers not to travel to airports unless they had made alternative arrangements. This move follows the recent insolvency of Eastern Airways, a fellow regional carrier, which ceased operations at the end of October 2025.
Blue Islands primarily served routes connecting UK airports with the Channel Islands, including destinations like Jersey, Guernsey, Bruges, Paris, and Dublin. With a fleet of five ATR 72 turboprops, the airline has been operating under its current name since 2006, though its history dates back to 1999 as Le Cocq's Airlink and 2003 as Rockhopper.
Support Measures and Future Arrangements
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced support for affected Blue Islands passengers, with Loganair offering rescue fares on key routes such as Jersey-Guernsey and Jersey-Exeter until November 19, 2025. Additionally, Aurigny will operate supplementary flights on the Guernsey routes until the same date. Passengers holding bookings are advised to contact their payment providers or Aurigny if their tickets were booked through Blue Islands' codeshare partner.
“We regret to inform you that Blue Islands has suspended trading. Please do not travel to the airport unless you have made alternative arrangements,” the airline stated on its website. The CAA emphasized that travelers should stay updated on the agency's website for the latest information, as all Blue Islands flights are canceled.
The airline's collapse raises concerns over regional air travel connectivity in the UK and highlights ongoing financial pressures faced by small carriers in the current aviation climate.
