As the New Year 2026 approaches, Vietnam Airlines has announced an extensive capacity increase to accommodate the holiday travel rush. The airline plans to operate over 270 additional flights from December 26, 2025, to January 5, 2026, offering more than 45,000 extra seats on key domestic routes, including popular holiday destinations like Danang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Dalat. This move aims to facilitate seamless travel for holidaymakers and to support the country's growing tourism sector.
Vietnam Airlines' expansion strategy reflects a long-term vision for strengthening regional connectivity and promoting sustainable tourism growth. By enhancing flight frequency and capacity, the airline intends to improve access to major cultural and natural attractions across Vietnam, thereby diversifying the tourism offer and attracting more international visitors. The airline is also investing in technological upgrades, such as online check-in and biometric services, to improve passenger convenience during this peak season.
This capacity increase aligns with Vietnam's broader efforts to position itself as a top destination in Southeast Asia. The airline's focus on modernizing its services and infrastructure underscores its role in fostering Vietnam’s economic development, tourism, and international profile. Looking ahead, Vietnam Airlines' expansion is expected to underpin the country's tourism growth and contribute to a resilient, efficient aviation network.
