SR Technics has implemented a pioneering digital tire tracking system to optimize aircraft maintenance processes. The company adopted Bridgestone’s easytrack system at its facilities in Madrid and Mallorca, focusing on wheel and brake repair services. This digital solution has replaced manual record-keeping, leading to faster, more reliable, and fully traceable inventory management.
Introduced in October 2020, easytrack simplifies tire management by scanning QR codes to retrieve information such as serial numbers, invoices, and certificates. It also provides features for reporting damage and monitoring tire health. According to SR Technics, this technology has cut tire processing time by nearly half and enhanced planning, data accuracy, and overall operational efficiency.
The project was the result of a two-year collaboration with Bridgestone. Notably, Cebu Pacific Air was the first airline to adopt easytrack in July 2025, reporting a 50% reduction in labor for inventory tasks and complete accuracy of data. Bridgestone’s collaborative work extends to Japan Airlines' subsidiary J-AIR, which uses a predictive tire wear algorithm based on flight data to determine optimal tire replacement timing.
Lindsay Bjerregaard, managing editor at Aviation Week, highlights that these technological initiatives are transforming maintenance practices in the aviation industry by improving transparency, speed, and accuracy in tire inventory management and predictive diagnostics.
