Abu Dhabi airports have demonstrated resilience in reestablishing flight operations following recent adverse weather conditions. Coordinated efforts between operations teams, the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Centre, and airline partners have led to a gradual and safe resumption of limited flights, showcasing the emirate’s aviation strength.
In 2025, Abu Dhabi Airports recorded more than 33 million passengers—the highest in the emirate’s history—highlighting rapid growth and network expansion. Zayed International Airport alone handled 32.5 million passengers, with increased routes and airline connectivity across regions including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The airport also launched 39 new routes and welcomed seven new airlines, with daily passenger numbers exceeding 100,000 on multiple days.
The airport’s success is attributed to strategic initiatives such as expanding international destinations, forming new airline partnerships, and investing in infrastructure. Notable achievements include surpassing 30 million passengers for the first time, reaching 770,000 tonnes of cargo, and receiving awards for shopping and passenger experience. The resilience and adaptability of Abu Dhabi’s aviation sector continue to position it as a significant global hub, supporting economic growth and connectivity.
