A new regional airline, Air Ayodhya, has achieved a significant regulatory milestone by obtaining the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from India's Ministry of Civil Aviation. This certification allows the airline, operated by Megamax Aviation Private Limited, to proceed with the certification process for its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Once certified, the airline plans to commence commercial operations with a focus on Uttar Pradesh.

The airline aims to connect smaller towns, pilgrimage sites, and tourism destinations within the state, facilitating greater regional mobility under the UDAN scheme. It will initially operate with brand-new Cessna Grand Caravan EX aircraft, expected to be delivered in December 2026. As demand grows, Air Ayodhya intends to expand its fleet to include 19-seater aircraft and larger turboprop planes for high-demand routes.

Statements and Future Outlook

Rajesh Kumar Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of Megamax Group, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the approval, stating that the NOC marks an important step toward making air travel accessible for smaller towns in Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized the airline's mission to fill the gap of scheduled flights in these areas and noted support from the government. The airline is now preparing for certification and eventual launch of regional flights.
