Air Bonanza Express, a Kenyan cargo carrier, is set to expand its fleet with the addition of a Boeing 757-200(F) by the end of June 2026. This move aims to increase cargo capacity for regional and Middle Eastern routes, supporting the transportation needs of UN agencies and the oil and gas sector across Africa.
The airline's expansion involves leasing three aircraft, including two Il-76s dedicated to oversized freight and scheduled flights connecting key African markets and Mumbai. Chief Executive Boniface Kimani stated that funding facilitated by Dubai-based financiers has been crucial for this growth.
Enhancing Regional Connectivity
The new aircraft will enable Air Bonanza Express to bolster its intra-Africa cargo services and support regional logistics. Previously, the airline operated an Il-76 and a heavy-lift helicopter but returned them to lessors earlier this year. The company's focus remains on providing dependable freight solutions for sectors involved in international aid, energy, and defense.
"The addition of the B757-200(F) will significantly enhance our regional cargo connectivity,"said Kimani. With the fleet expansion, the airline intends to strengthen intra-continental and international cargo shipments, fostering economic development and efficient logistics across targeted regions.
