Air Canada is set to increase its flight frequency on the Vancouver (YVR) to Manila (MNL) route starting December 7, 2026, adding a fifth weekly flight for the winter season. The airline plans to operate this service with the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, offering improved capacity and efficiency. The schedule includes departing Vancouver at 0130 and arriving in Manila at 0645 the following day, with the return flight leaving Manila at 1025 and arriving in Vancouver at 0710 local time.
This expansion aims to accommodate growing winter travel demand among Filipino communities and broader transpacific travelers. The route's capacity has increased by 20%, supporting strong load factors and premium revenue, positioning Air Canada competitively against Philippine Airlines and other North American carriers serving the Philippines.
Strategic Fleet and Route Development
The Boeing 787 has become a core component of Air Canada's fleet modernization, with over 30 units scheduled for delivery this year. The airline also plans to introduce aircraft models such as the Airbus A321XLR and 787-10, broadening its international route network and alleviating fleet pressure. These developments provide customers with greater scheduling flexibility and more opportunities during busy holiday seasons.
