Air Charter Scotland, a regional airline based at Perth Scone, is set to commence its first scheduled service following the award of a Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract. The route connects Wick and Aberdeen Dyce and becomes the only scheduled service to Wick after Eastern Airways ceased its operations there in October 2025.

The airline plans to operate six weekly flights starting from January 12, 2025. Initially, it will wet-lease an 18-seat Jetstream 32 aircraft from AIS Airlines, which operates three aircraft of this type. The aircraft will be based at Wick and will enhance the connectivity of the region.

The service duration is initially planned until the end of March 2026, with the possibility of extension depending on funding. The operation aims to address the regional connectivity gap following the collapse of Eastern Airways, which previously served Wick. The local authorities, including the Highland Council, have expressed support for this initiative, viewing it as vital for regional development.

Air Charter Scotland currently manages a fleet of business jets such as Citation Jet 2, Citation Latitude, Legacy 500, and Legacy 650, with additional aircraft operated through its Maltese subsidiary. The company has applied for the route and operating licenses necessary to expand its presence in Scottish regional aviation, signaling future growth plans.

This new route marks a strategic step for Air Charter Scotland in diversifying its operations and strengthening regional air services in Scotland, especially in areas with limited scheduled options. The company’s efforts highlight its focus on regional development and providing essential connectivity for remote communities.
