European airline maintenance provider Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) has reported a substantial increase in operating profits for 2025, approaching levels seen before the COVID-19 pandemic. The company posted an operating profit of €267 million ($314 million), reflecting growth from €170 million in 2024, along with an improvement in profit margins to 4.8% from the prior 5.6%. Despite facing ongoing supply chain disruptions and evolving customer expectations, AFI KLM E&M's revenue from third-party services rose by 10.6% to €2.31 billion. This growth was mainly driven by engine maintenance activities. The company also secured ten new long-term maintenance contracts during the last quarter of 2025, raising its total maintenance order book to $10.7 billion from $8.7 billion at the end of 2024. Group CFO Steven Zaat expressed optimism about future profitability, particularly in the components sector, which has suffered from supply chain issues but is expected to improve. Despite the industry’s challenges, AFI KLM E&M remains committed to returning to its pre-pandemic profit margins and strengthening its market position as a leading European MRO provider.
