Air India has expanded its international connectivity through a new codeshare partnership with airBaltic, the flag carrier of Latvia. This collaboration enables passengers to book flights with the airline’s ‘AI’ code on airBaltic-operated routes from Riga to several major European gateways, including Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Milan, Vienna, Zurich, and London Gatwick. The partnership also facilitates travel to Estonia and Lithuania via select European points, offering broader regional access.
The airline operates non-stop flights from Delhi to multiple European cities, such as Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, and others, along with flights from Mumbai, Amritsar, and Ahmedabad. Since its privatization in 2022, Air India has significantly expanded its global network, establishing numerous codeshare and interline agreements with more than 800 destinations worldwide, reflecting its strategic growth ambitions.
Introduction of New Aircraft
In addition, Air India Express announced the induction of its 51st Boeing 737-8 aircraft, the first line-fit model tailored for enhanced passenger comfort. The aircraft arrived at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and will soon commence operations. The airline’s modern fleet now exceeds 100 aircraft, and efforts are underway to retrofit existing planes with new seating configurations as part of broader fleet modernization.
Executives from Air India expressed their commitment to strengthening regional and international routes, emphasizing that these initiatives support India’s expanding aviation market and regional connectivity. The ongoing fleet upgrades and strategic alliances aim to deliver seamless travel experiences to passengers across the globe and within India.
