AirArabia, a prominent airline in the Middle East, is set to commence a daily nonstop flight service between Sharjah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates and Rome Fiumicino Airport, starting in July. The service will be operated with an Airbus A320neo aircraft, reflecting the airline’s focus on expanding its European route network.
Adel Al Ali, the CEO of AirArabia, highlighted the airline’s enthusiasm for this new route, emphasizing its potential to support increased travel and economic ties between the UAE and Italy. The airline aims to provide convenient and reliable connectivity to travelers, supporting both business and leisure segments.
Strategic Significance
The new route aligns with AirArabia’s broader strategy to enhance its international presence, especially in Europe. This service will augment the airline’s offerings in the region and foster stronger cultural and economic exchanges.
"We are happy to launch this daily connection between Sharjah and Rome, which will open new opportunities for travelers and businesses alike," said Adel Al Ali.
Ella Nethersole, Deputy Editor of Aviation Week Network publications Arabian Aerospace and African Aerospace, noted that the route's launch is a notable milestone for the airline's growth in Europe and its efforts to serve the Middle East's expanding travel demand.
The airline’s move is expected to boost tourist arrivals and facilitate international trade, further strengthening the UAE’s position as a regional hub for air travel.
