airBaltic has partnered with InterLnkd to introduce AirMall, a new inflight shopping platform that leverages Starlink internet connectivity. This service allows passengers to browse and purchase from over 20,000 brands directly through the airline’s WiFi portal, which is accessible via their personal devices. The initiative aims to transform the onboard WiFi into a digital retail space, offering personalized recommendations based on passenger profiles and destinations.
According to Natālija Kuzmina, VP of Customer Experience & Insights at airBaltic, the addition of AirMall enhances the passenger experience by providing seamless shopping with options for home delivery, while also reinforcing customer loyalty through earning points. The platform is designed to be compatible with existing airline portals, making it a scalable solution that can be adopted by other carriers seeking to monetize inflight WiFi services.
Barry Klipp, CEO of InterLnkd, stated that turning the connected cabin into a digital marketplace is a clear step towards the future of inflight amenities. The platform offers a curated, personalized experience with minimal onboard involvement, supporting operational efficiency while expanding revenue opportunities.
