Airbus is advancing its digital aviation initiatives by merging its Skywise platform with Navblue, its flight operations subsidiary. This consolidation, effective from 1 April 2026, aims to create a comprehensive, end-to-end digital ecosystem supporting airlines and other aircraft operators. The Skywise platform, established in 2017, has already reached thousands of aircraft, providing data-driven insights to optimize performance, reduce disruptions, and lower maintenance costs.

Navblue, acquired by Airbus in 2016, specializes in electronic flight bags, navigation data, and flight planning tools. Its integration with Skywise is intended to accelerate Airbus's digital transformation efforts and promote the industry-wide adoption of connected, resilient systems. The new entity, led by Marc Lemeilleur with around 750 staff, will focus on delivering unified data services supporting pilots, engineers, and logistics personnel across various aircraft types.

Strategic Focus and Industry Impact

Airbus senior vice-president Cristina Aguilar emphasized that Skywise is now positioned as the primary provider of comprehensive digital solutions for aviation, capable of supporting both Airbus and non-Airbus fleets. Airbus envisions the platform as a key component in achieving safer, more connected, and environmentally sustainable aviation, aligning with broader decarbonization goals. The company anticipates that the merged Skywise will serve as the core of Airbus’s digital offerings, fostering greater collaboration and operational efficiency.
