Airbus has officially opened its new combined industrial center in Cádiz, Spain, following a major consolidation effort at its Bay of Cádiz sites. The facility, now fully integrated, consolidates teams and production lines from previously separate plants in El Puerto de Santa María and Puerto Real. Employing approximately 750 staff, the site aims to enhance production efficiency and automation.
The expansion included adding 4,000 square meters for increased capacity, specifically for production lines associated with the A320, A330, and A350 programs. Airbus also acquired land for logistics and constructed additional service buildings, emphasizing its commitment to modernization and increased throughput.
The consolidation, initiated in 2021 with a planned investment exceeding 90 million euros, symbolizes Airbus’s intent to streamline its manufacturing operations in Spain. The site’s high automation levels support ramp-ups in production and are instrumental in manufacturing parts for aircraft such as the A400M, the A330 MRTT, the C295, and the Eurofighter, integrating both commercial and defense divisions.
