Airbus has delivered a third five-bladed H145 helicopter to Melbourne-based Microflite Aviation, expanding its fleet to support a range of operations including emergency medical services, fire observation, and rescue missions. The delivery marks the 21st Airbus helicopter in the company's fleet, providing versatile capabilities suited for the demanding terrains of Australia.
Rodney Higgins, Microflite’s Chief Executive, highlights the importance of this new aircraft, stating, "With this addition, we anticipate enhanced operational efficiency and mission success across our diverse portfolio." The H145’s advanced Safran Arriel 2E engines and spacious cabin are tailored for missions requiring precision and reliability.
Airbus’s Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand, Christian Venzal, emphasizes the aircraft’s technological advantages, including the Helionix avionics suite and Fenestron tail rotor, which reinforce safety and operational effectiveness. The D3 variant’s increased payload capacity further allows Microflite to undertake more demanding missions, especially in EMS contexts where payload weight is crucial.
The H145 enjoys widespread global use, with over 1,750 aircraft in service and more than eight million flight hours. Its low emissions and sound levels set industry standards. Airbus’s ongoing partnership with Microflite ensures that the operator remains equipped with reliable, state-of-the-art helicopters capable of tackling Australia’s challenging mission environments.
