Airbus Reports Record Aircraft Deliveries and Contracts in 2025

In 2025, Airbus achieved a remarkable milestone by delivering 793 commercial aircraft, surpassing previous records and reinforcing its market leadership. The deliveries included 93 of the A220 family, 607 of the A320 family, 36 of the A330 family, and 57 of the A350 family. The company noted a high volume of new orders and an end-of-year backlog reaching 8,754 aircraft, indicating sustained demand across all regions.

The year saw notable milestones such as the delivery of a wide range of aircraft models including the A321XLR, A330neo, and A350-1000. Airbus also announced a significant contract with Eutelsat to develop 340 additional OneWeb low Earth orbit satellites. This move aims to enhance global connectivity and reinforce European space capabilities, with production taking place at Toulouse and deliveries scheduled from late 2026.

Industry Outlook and Satellite Contract

Airbus Defence and Space's agreement with Eutelsat exemplifies its expanding presence in satellite technology. The new satellites will support the OneWeb constellation, providing high-speed, low-latency internet worldwide. Alain Fauré, Head of Space Systems at Airbus, remarked that this contract endorses their design expertise and strategic partnership with Eutelsat confirmed their long-term collaboration.

"This latest contract from Eutelsat is an endorsement of our design and manufacturing expertise for LEO satellites. Airbus has collaborated with Eutelsat for more than 30 years and this deal further strengthens our relationship,"

Eutelsat's CEO, Jean-François Fallacher, emphasized the importance of these satellites for ensuring service continuity and enabling new business opportunities, including payload hosting capabilities.

Overall, Airbus’s 2025 achievements reflect a robust industry position, underpinned by technological innovation and strategic expansion into space infrastructure, promising a dynamic outlook for the aviation and aerospace sectors.
