In September, Airbus increased its aircraft deliveries compared to previous months, handing over 72 commercial aircraft, which included 59 A320neo family aircraft, six A220s, two A330-900s, and three A350-900s. This lifting of output contributed to a total of 547 aircraft delivered by the end of September, positioning the manufacturer to meet its full-year target of between 850 and 870 aircraft with roughly 104 units to be delivered monthly over the upcoming quarter.
Despite the positive delivery figures, Airbus experienced a sharp decline in new orders for September, with only 17 firmed bookings, predominantly for A320neos, including orders by Air Cairo and FlyOne Armenia. The company's backlog now stands at 9,310 aircraft, with the gross orders for 2026 reaching 1,174 units. Around 69 aircraft have been canceled so far this year, with three cancellations in September, all of the A220-300 model.
The firm’s net order tally through September 30 has doubled compared to a similar period in 2025. Airbus plans to hold its third-quarter earnings call on October 28, as the company continues to demonstrate increased production momentum despite recent slowdowns in new order intake.
