ACIA Aero Leasing has announced the completion of a significant sale and leaseback transaction involving two ATR 72-600 aircraft with EWA Air, a regional carrier operating in the Indian Ocean. The deal marks a strategic step for EWA Air as it consolidates its regional operations and strengthens its partnership with ACIA. EWA Air, which is part of Air Austral, benefits from this arrangement by enhancing regional connectivity, supporting local economic development in Mayotte, and maintaining seamless links within the Indian Ocean regions.
In addition, TrueNoord, a specialist aircraft lessor, has delivered three Airbus A220-300 aircraft to Breeze Airways under a long-term lease agreement. This delivery, the first Airbus transaction for TrueNoord, aligns with Breeze Airways’ fleet strategy of operating a single aircraft type to serve under-connected U.S. city pairs efficiently. The new aircraft will enable Breeze to expand its regional network, leveraging the A220's fuel efficiency and capacity to reduce operating costs.
Executives from both companies highlighted their commitment to supporting innovative regional airlines and strengthening their fleets with next-generation aircraft. According to Mick Mooney, ACIA’s CEO, the transaction demonstrates ACIA’s capacity to serve the regional aviation market and support airline growth. Breeze Airways’ CFO, Trent Porter, emphasized the importance of the new A220s in providing affordable service across numerous U.S. cities.
These deals reflect ongoing efforts within the aviation industry to modernize regional fleets and improve connectivity. The partnerships open new opportunities for the involved airlines, fostering regional development and improving service efficiency in their respective markets.
