Lufthansa is close to finalizing a follow-up order for new widebody aircraft with Airbus or Boeing, according to CEO Carsten Spohr. Speaking at the Airlines for Europe (A4E) summit in Brussels on March 19, Spohr mentioned that the decision is likely to be made within a few weeks. The airline is considering models including the Airbus A350 or Boeing's widebody options. The company's leadership is in the final stages of evaluating the best fit for their future fleet expansion and renewal plans. This move reflects Lufthansa’s strategic investment in modern, fuel-efficient aircraft to enhance its long-haul network and respond to evolving market demands. Industry analysts see this as a significant step in Lufthansa’s capacity planning and competitive positioning in the global airline market.
