Airworks Aviation Company, a leading flight training organization based in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, has announced that it has received official authorization from the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV). This certification allows the academy to offer flight training programs recognized by CAAV standards, thereby extending its influence into the Vietnamese market.
The certification includes approval to deliver three recognized programs: CPL IR – Single Engine, CPL IR – Multi-Engine, and ATPL Theory. During the approval process, representatives from CAAV visited Airworks' facilities to assess the quality of training systems, infrastructure, and instructional personnel, ultimately formalizing a partnership that supports high standards of flight training.
This development highlights the Philippines' strategic position in aviation education, emphasizing Cebu's advantages such as favorable weather, less congested airspace, and geographic location, which make it an ideal regional hub for international flight training. Established in 1993, Airworks Aviation has been a prominent training provider in the country and serves as the official partner for Cebu Pacific's Cadet Pilot Program.
The certification from CAAV marks a significant milestone for Cebu as it seeks to strengthen its reputation as a regional aviation education hub, creating expanded opportunities for aspiring pilots from Vietnam and neighboring nations. This move is expected to foster greater international cooperation and growth in the aviation sector across Southeast Asia.
