Akasa Air has proudly announced the achievement of registration under the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) programme, a recognition of its safety management that aligns with global benchmarks. The airline reported that this milestone was attained within just over three years since they began operations, underscoring their dedication to maintaining a high standard of safety and operational excellence. Capt. Gaurav Pathak, Chief of Flight Safety, emphasized that this accomplishment reflects the airline’s disciplined safety culture, rigorous training, and systems designed for continuous improvement.

The IOSA certification, established by the International Air Transport Association, is an extensive audit covering critical operational areas such as flight operations, maintenance, security, and organizational systems. Akasa Air indicated that adopting such international standards early in its growth trajectory enhances its credibility and positions it among a select group of airlines recognized for operational excellence worldwide.

In addition to this safety milestone, Air India Express has introduced a new daily flight service connecting Nagpur and Bengaluru. This addition expands the airline’s regional reach within Maharashtra and offers travelers greater flexibility and connectivity. The inaugural flight from Nagpur took off at 10:00 hours and arrived in Bengaluru at 12:05. The return flight departed Bengaluru at 07:25 and landed in Nagpur at 09:30. The schedule, effective from December 1, 2025, provides two daily flights each way, reinforcing the airline’s effort to strengthen regional transportation networks. Aloke Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express, expressed that these routes will facilitate better connectivity within Maharashtra and to international destinations via Bengaluru.

Further expansions are planned, with the airline set to begin direct flights from Navi Mumbai to Bengaluru and Delhi starting December 25, 2025. These developments underline the airline's strategic focus on regional growth and international linkages, supporting increased passenger movement across India and neighboring countries.
