AlHind Air, a new regional airline promoted by the Kerala-based Alhind Group, is set to commence operations later this year, focusing on domestic routes within India. The airline will operate with a fleet of ATR 72-600 aircraft, a popular twin-turboprop model known for efficiency. This move signifies the expansion of the Alhind Group into the Indian aviation industry, complementing its established presence in travel, tourism, and related sectors across the Middle East and South Asia.
Mohammed Haris, Chairman and owner of AlHind Air, has a background rooted in the travel industry and holds a position as the founder General Secretary of the Indian Hajj Umrah Association. His leadership aims to leverage the group's extensive experience to build a regional airline network that enhances connectivity and provides reliable air travel options within India.
The Alhind Group's diverse business portfolio, including transportation and technology services, supports its goal to innovate in the airline sector through digital booking platforms and user-friendly online interfaces. With certification from the Civil Aviation Ministry, AlHind Air plans to start with regional routes and expand as demand grows, contributing to India's regional travel infrastructure.
The group’s efforts reflect a broader trend of regional airline growth targeting underserved markets and offering competition to larger national carriers. This development is expected to increase travel options, stimulate economic activity, and foster greater regional integration across Indian states.
