Senior airline executives from the Asia Pacific region are set to meet in Bangkok on 14-15 November 2025 for the annual Assembly of Presidents organized by the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA). This year’s event, hosted by Bangkok Airways, will focus on strengthening supply chains and enhancing manpower resilience amidst ongoing industry challenges.
The conference aims to provide a platform for discussing strategic responses to issues such as supply chain disruptions, capacity shortfalls, and the industry’s push toward sustainability. Industry leaders will review recent performance data, exchange insights, and collaborate on initiatives to promote long-term resilience and environmental responsibility.
Despite positive growth in passenger traffic and sustained demand, the aviation sector faces significant hurdles, including a global aircraft delivery shortfall of over 5,200 units in 2025, and bottlenecks in maintenance and sustainable fuel availability. Trade tensions and new tariffs have further complicated supply chain recovery, threatening to impact freight and passenger operations.
“The introduction of new tariffs at a time when global supply chains are still in recovery represents a setback for the aviation sector,”
said Mr. Subhas Menon, Director General of AAPA. He emphasized that ongoing delays in aircraft deliveries hinder fleet renewal and could increase overall carbon emissions. However, he noted that the region’s strong economies and demographic trends support optimistic outlooks for the industry’s future.
The assembly will serve as a key forum for regional aviation leaders to align strategies for operational resilience and sustainability, setting the stage for a resilient and environmentally responsible future for Asia Pacific aviation.
