Spain's air navigation service provider, ENAIRE, and the Official College of Commercial Aviation Pilots (COPAC) have formalized their cooperation with a new protocol designed to improve operational and safety coordination. Signed by high-ranking representatives from both organizations, this agreement extends their longstanding collaboration, which began with initiatives such as the Observatory for Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability of Air Operations launched in 2019.

The protocol encompasses cooperation in planning air navigation studies, safety advice, risk analysis, and the review of aeronautical information. It also involves organizing training activities, seminars, and issuing technical advisory reports to enhance operational safety. Dean Carlos San José of COPAC emphasized that integrating pilots’ operational perspectives with ENAIRE’s expertise will result in more accurate information and safer air transport for the public in Spain.

ENAIRE's Director General Enrique Maurer highlighted the importance of leveraging pilots' experience to improve service quality. The agreement affirms ongoing efforts to strengthen safety through collaborative data collection and analysis, ultimately aiming at better safety standards within Spanish civil aviation.
