Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University hosted its annual Business of Flight Week, bringing together industry leaders, students, and entrepreneurs to discuss the latest trends and challenges in aviation. The event featured panel discussions with successful alumni and professionals across various sectors of aviation and aerospace, emphasizing entrepreneurship, industry innovations, and networking opportunities.
Among the highlights was a panel titled Founders in Flight, where alumni shared their journeys building companies specializing in uncrewed aerial systems and space enterprises. Trevor Perrott, founder of Censys Technologies, reflected on the perseverance required to reach a multimillion-dollar valuation from his start as a university senior. Other speakers included Greg Johnson from Tuvoli, Michael Young of Terran Orbital, and Mounir Alxan of Galaxy Air Consultants, each emphasizing resilience and adaptability in the industry.
Additional discussions focused on aircraft leasing, with alumni Damon D'Agostino, Dale Zarb, and Rohan Mahajan exploring complexities from financing to asset management. Dr. Bert Zarb highlighted the importance of industry engagement in student education, noting that the goal is to prepare students for successful careers by offering direct insights from industry professionals.
