SITA, the Arab Air Carriers’ Organization (AACO), and Amadeus have announced a partnership aimed at improving transparency and data accuracy related to aviation sustainability efforts. The collaboration focuses on integrating SITA Eco Mission, which analyzes aircraft operational data to calculate emissions and fuel consumption, with Amadeus’s Travel Impact Suite, a platform aggregating environmental data from multiple sources.
The initiative seeks to provide the aviation industry with detailed, verified emissions data, allowing airlines and travelers to make more informed decisions. Yann Cabaret, CEO of SITA for Aircraft, commented, "Trust between passengers and airlines begins with transparency. By combining Amadeus’ travel technology solutions with our operational data, we’re exploring how verified information can give airlines and passengers greater confidence in reporting data related to sustainability. It’s an important first step that shows how major players in the industry can come together to drive real progress."
Maher Koubaa, Executive Vice President at Amadeus, emphasized the importance of trusted data sources, stating that this collaboration adds another layer of credibility to emissions calculations. He highlighted that this effort enables the industry to better understand environmental impacts, promoting transparency and accountability across the travel ecosystem.
Overall, the partnership aims to support sustainable growth within aviation by providing stakeholders with reliable, actionable data, fostering responsible travel practices, and helping the industry meet its environmental goals.
