In a significant achievement within the air cargo industry, Awery Aviation Software has won the Fifth IATA ONE Record Hackathon held in Hong Kong, demonstrating its ongoing leadership in innovative logistics solutions. The company's project, Voyager, is a cargo monitoring tool developed over a 48-hour period, designed to provide real-time insights into shipment milestones by integrating seamlessly with the ONE Record API.
The system facilitates the tracking of critical acceptance and handling processes, aiming to reduce delays caused by data fragmentation among airlines, handlers, and forwarders. Voyager incorporates QR-based acceptance checks to document key phases such as Freight on Hand, Shipment Acceptance, and Readiness for Carriage, aligning with Cargo iQ’s Exception Handling Protocol.
Furthermore, the tool includes features like direct messaging alerts for various stakeholders—including forwarders, drivers, airlines, and shippers—and leverages artificial intelligence and weather forecasts to preemptively identify temperature risks that could affect cargo integrity. The project’s development team comprises Vitaly Smilianets, along with Serhii Radchenko, Yurii Bykov, Anton Khrystenko, Anna Balan, and Ivaylo Atanasov.
This victory underscores the growing importance of standardization and digital integration in air cargo operations, as the industry strives for greater efficiency and visibility. As a next step, Awery plans to develop an open-source PHP-based service to promote wider adoption of the ONE Record standard and facilitate easier integration for industry players.
