ASG Helicopter Services, a prominent aviation company in Azerbaijan, has significantly expanded its fleet by introducing the AW189 helicopter specifically configured for offshore operations. This move highlights the company's ongoing efforts to support Azerbaijan’s offshore oil and gas industries, which are vital to the region's energy sector.
The AW189 model is a twin-engine super-medium helicopter designed for long-range overwater transport, search and rescue (SAR), and other energy-related missions. Equipped with modern avionics and a spacious cabin, it meets rigorous safety standards required for offshore platforms in the Caspian Sea. This strategic addition is expected to enhance offshore logistics, personnel transfer, and cargo transportation supporting regional energy infrastructure.
The helicopter can carry up to 16 passengers and two crew members, offering high operational reliability and safety in challenging offshore environments. Azerbaijan’s relevant authorities have approved the helicopter’s certification for use within the country, confirming its adherence to local safety regulations.
