Bangladesh conducted a comprehensive workshop aimed at strengthening its aviation security system, addressing ongoing challenges with input from key stakeholders in the country’s aviation sector. Hosted at the Civil Aviation Academy in Dhaka, the event focused on modern security measures, including passenger screening, cargo safety, and countering cyber threats, in accordance with ICAO standards.
Attendees included officials from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), law enforcement representatives, and airline executives from Biman Bangladesh Airlines and US-Bangla Airlines. Keynote presentations included discussions on emerging technologies, human resource development, and integrated systems that can enhance airport safety and security across the country.
"Such workshops are vital for sharing best practices and ensuring aviation security aligns with international standards," said Air Commodore Md Asif Iqbal, Member (Security) of CAAB, during the event. The participants exchanged practical insights and detailed strategies to mitigate security risks. Certificates were distributed to participants marking the successful completion of the event, which underscored Bangladesh's commitment to continuous improvement in aviation security.
This initiative aims to build a more resilient security framework for Bangladesh's airports and airlines, safeguarding passengers and cargo while adapting to technological advancements and emerging threats.
