Black Forest Ventures, a Texas-based asset management company, has announced its acquisition of MAC Air Group, an established regional aircraft management and charter service provider. This deal includes MAC Air Group’s Part 135 operations, based at Portland International Jetport, along with a substantial fixed-base operation (FBO) and a certified aircraft maintenance hangar, positioning the company for long-term growth in the Northeast.
MAC Air Group's fleet, which as of February includes Challenger 800 and 850 models, Citation Jet 4, Falcon 900B, BAE-125 variants, Global Express XRS, and Citation XLS Gen2, serves a diverse range of clients including corporate and government entities. The company’s flagship facility at Portland supports a broad spectrum of services, facilitated by a 28,800-square-foot FBO and a 12,000-square-foot maintenance hangar, providing comprehensive support for its aircraft operations.
Strategic Growth Outlook
Jeremy Gee, managing director of Black Forest Ventures Aviation, highlighted Portland's strategic importance as a gateway to the Northeast’s coastal destinations. The acquisition aligns with Black Forest’s broader strategy to expand its network of Part 135 operators, which includes Wing Aviation and Paradigm Helicopters, alongside maintenance and FBO chains. This move is expected to enhance regional connectivity and service offerings, supporting continued growth in business aviation.
